FAQs
Frequently asked questions
Prices
How much is a call-out?
It depends on the time the engineer arrives. Plumbing and heating call-outs start at the daytime rate, with higher evening & weekend and night & bank holiday rates. Every rate is on our Prices page, including VAT, before you book.
Is there an emergency surcharge?
No. An emergency costs the same as any other call-out in the same time band. You pay for the time of day, not the word "emergency".
What's included in the call-out charge?
Travel within the area we cover, attendance, diagnosis and the first 60 minutes of work. After the first hour, time is charged in 30-minute blocks at the extra-time rate for the same band.
Which time band applies to my visit?
The band is set by when the engineer arrives, and the whole visit is charged at that band.
How are parts charged?
Parts are charged on top of labour. Common parts are carried on every van, and the engineer confirms the price before fitting anything.
What if the engineer needs to come back with a part?
There's no second call-out charge for a return visit to fit ordered parts. You only pay for the time on site, at the extra-time rate.
Booking and payment
Do I need an account to book?
No. You can book as a guest in about a minute. Just tell us what you need, your postcode, when, and how to reach you.
Do I pay online?
Not at the moment. No payment is taken when you book. You pay when the job is finished, and the engineer will explain how.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Cancelling is free up to the point the engineer is dispatched. If you book online you also have a 14-day cancellation right. If you ask us to start work within that period, you'll pay for any work already done.
Can I book for a tenant or a property I manage?
Yes. Choose landlord or agent when you book, or tell us you're a tenant and give us the landlord or agent's details. Businesses can also apply for an account with 30-day terms.
Coverage and safety
Where do you cover?
At launch we cover South East London (SE1–SE28) and East London (E1–E18, E1W and E20). Enter your postcode when you book and we'll confirm straight away.
What if you don't cover my postcode yet?
Leave your details and we'll note your area. It helps us decide where to expand next, and we'll let you know when we cover you.
Are your engineers Gas Safe registered?
All gas work is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers. Our registration number is shown at the top of every page.
I can smell gas. Can you come out?
Call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 first. They'll make the supply safe. Once they have, we can repair the appliance or pipework.
