What to do right now

  1. 1

    Check the controls

Make sure the thermostat is turned up, the programmer is set to on, and any wireless thermostat has working batteries.

  2. 2

    Check the boiler pressure

Most combi boilers should read between 1 and 1.5 bar when the heating is off. If it's below 1, tell us when you book.

  3. 3

    Check the power

Make sure the boiler's fused spur switch is on and nothing has tripped at the consumer unit.

  4. 4

    Keep people warm safely

Use a safe portable electric heater in one room if you have one, and keep doors closed to hold the heat in.

FAQs

Emergency questions

Someone vulnerable is in the property. Can you prioritise us?

Tell us when you book or call. We'll take it into account when assigning an engineer.

Do you charge extra because it's an emergency?

No. There is no emergency surcharge. You pay the call-out rate for the time of day the engineer arrives (daytime, evening and weekend, or night and bank holiday), the same as any other visit in that band.

What does the call-out charge include?

Travel within the area we cover, attendance, diagnosis and the first 60 minutes of work. After that, time is charged in 30-minute blocks at the extra-time rate for the same band. Parts are extra, and the engineer confirms the price before fitting anything.

Will anything go ahead without my agreement?

No. Nothing beyond the first hour goes ahead unless you agree to it. If parts need ordering, the return visit to fit them has no second call-out charge. You only pay for the time on site.
