Most of Ilford was built in a rush between the 1890s and the First World War, much of it on estates laid out by Archibald Cameron Corbett, the developer behind the Corbett Estate in Catford. Those terraces now sit alongside 1930s semis around Gants Hill and Newbury Park and a cluster of apartment towers in the town centre near the Elizabeth line station. Many of the terraced houses have been converted into flats or extended at the back, so old clay drains shared along the row and boilers working harder than intended are both common.

Write down any code or flashing light on the boiler display and the make and model. It helps the engineer bring the right parts.
Look at the pressure gauge, and check whether your gas hob works. If it doesn't, the problem may be the supply rather than the boiler.
In freezing weather, a gurgling boiler that locks out often has a frozen condensate pipe outside. Pouring warm, not boiling, water along it can clear it.

No. There is no emergency surcharge. You pay the call-out rate for the time of day the engineer arrives (daytime, evening and weekend, or night and bank holiday), the same as any other visit in that band.
Travel within the area we cover, attendance, diagnosis and the first 60 minutes of work. After that, time is charged in 30-minute blocks at the extra-time rate for the same band. Parts are extra, and the engineer confirms the price before fitting anything.
No. Nothing beyond the first hour goes ahead unless you agree to it. If parts need ordering, the return visit to fit them has no second call-out charge. You only pay for the time on site.
